Log Cabin style quilts are some of my favorites to make and to look at, the variations on such a simple and humble block are endless. They are my go to block when I need some easy and relaxing sewing, and they are a great way to play with color and value.

You can have as much freedom piecing this block as you desire, whether you want to be precise or sew wonky is up to you!  I will show you how to create a large 60 degree diamond freezer paper template to square the block up at the end, so that your quilt lays flat and comes together easily.

In this class we will start with lessons on color and value to create a dynamic quilt.  You will also learn how to draft a template, work with a large 60 degree angle diamond, and how to square up after each round of sewing to achieve a beautiful block without a paper foundation. That's right, this block is not foundation pieced!

In this course you will find:

Step by step videos and clear graphics to explain the technique.
An in depth look at using color and value to create a dynamic design.
A downloadable PDF pattern for the quilt.
A comment section for each lesson, where you can ask questions, upload photos, and get feedback from me and other participants!
On Demand classes are great for learning at your own pace and on your own schedule, and the ability to rewind and pause the videos is incredibly useful for learning a technique like Freezer Paper Piecing.
